On December 8, 2023, at Pullman Hanoi Hotel, Ton Nam Kim was honored to receive the Product of the Year award for 2023 for its ZINMAG® product, presented by Investment Newspaper in collaboration with Viet Research.
The “Product of the Year – Innovative, Effective Products, and Services of 2023” program conducted nationwide research, and surveys to seek, and honor outstanding products, and services known for innovation, and modernization within each industry. It aimed to meet high standards in customer demand, and experience, based on two main criteria: (1) Value added through innovation, creativity, and modernization (Innovation Premium – IP Index), and (2) Reputation, and business effectiveness of the product, and service.
The ZINMAG® product – a magnesium alloy-coated steel – is the result of over 4 years of serious investment with research, and development costs exceeding $10 million USD by Ton Nam Kim. This high-quality product provides breakthrough solutions in surface corrosion protection, and cutting – edge metal protection, usable even in the harshest environments such as coastal areas, livestock farming, and chemical settings, with a warranty period of over 50 years.
In addition to aluminum – zinc compounds, ZINMAG® integrates magnesium, and special rare earth elements as catalysts to maximize the protective features of the alloy. Thus, when oxidation occurs, these compounds effectively form protective barrier layers on the steel substrate, exceeding corrosion resistance expectations. Particularly on cut edges, screw holes, and scratches, ZINMAG® enhances durability over time, reducing maintenance, and upkeep costs while extending the lifespan of structures. This represents a global trend towards green manufacturing in the steel industry.
