Ton Nam Kim has been awarded the ISO 14067:2018 certification for Product Carbon Footprint and ISO 14064-1:2018 for Organizational Greenhouse Gas Inventory by Bureau Veritas – one of the world’s leading organizations in testing, inspection, and certification (TIC). This marks a significant milestone, clearly demonstrating Ton Nam Kim’s commitment to sustainable development and minimizing environmental impact.
Under the ISO 14067 standard, Ton Nam Kim has completed the carbon footprint assessment for all its product lines, including galvanized coated steel, galvalume coated steel, Zinmag® magnesium alloy coated steel, pre-painted galvanized coated steel, and pre-painted galvalume coated steel. The assessment follows a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology, measuring greenhouse gas emissions from raw material input to finished product delivery.
Concurrently, in line with ISO 14064-1, the company has developed a comprehensive organization-level greenhouse gas inventory system, covering both direct and indirect emission sources, such as energy consumption, transportation, and supply chain-related activities. Emission data are monitored, compiled, and verified by an independent third party to ensure transparency and high reliability.
To achieve these certifications, Ton Nam Kim implemented a series of coordinated measures, including establishing a data system in compliance with international standards, investing in emission assessment technologies, training specialized personnel, and conducting detailed product life cycle assessments. These efforts have enabled the company to identify key emission hotspots, gradually optimize production processes, upgrade technologies, and effectively manage greenhouse gas emissions.
